​The James Benson Dudley Sr. High School Educational and Sports Hall of Fame–Hall of Distinction Scholarship Program was established to recognize and support outstanding Dudley High School students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, and a commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

Each year, scholarships are awarded to deserving students who embody the rich legacy, pride, and tradition of James B. Dudley High School while preparing to pursue higher education and meaningful careers.

​

The scholarship program celebrates students who lead through service, academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, and a dedication to positively impacting their communities.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be a current student at James B. Dudley High School

• Submit a completed scholarship application

• Provide an official high school transcript

• Submit a copy of a college acceptance letter

• Provide three letters of reference

• Demonstrate involvement in school, extracurricular, and community activities

 

Application Requirements

The scholarship application includes the following sections:

Students will provide:

• GPA and class rank

• High school transcript

• College acceptance information

• Educational background and achievements

 

School Activities

Applicants should list:

• School organizations

• Athletics

• Clubs and extracurricular activities

• Leadership positions

• Awards and honors earned during high school

 

Community and Volunteer Service

Students are encouraged to highlight:

• Volunteer work

• Mentoring and community service

• Church or youth involvement

• Civic engagement activities

• Leadership roles and special recognition

 

Goals and Aspirations Essay

Applicants must submit a brief essay discussing:

• Educational goals

• Career aspirations

• Future plans and ambitions

 

Scholarship Application Deadline

Completed scholarship applications and supporting materials must be submitted by:

April 17, 2026
